Make Fundraising FUN!
The
Big D Climb has shown tremendous growth not only in number of climbers but also
in the funds raised over the last six years. To date, the Big D Climb has
raised over $745,000 towards our mission to find a cure for blood cancers!
How
can you help? After you register either online or offline, you will be given
a personal online fundraising page. Take five minutes to set up your page
and send out emails to your supporters. You'll be surprised to see how easy it
is to raise funds!
In
addition to helping raise money for a very important cause, you can also earn
exciting thank you gifts based on the amount you raise. (Check them
out in the bar to the right.)
Fundraising Tips
1. By far, the fastest and easiest way to raise
money is to use your personal online fundraising page. Customize your page
and send an email to your list of contacts with a link to your fundraising page! Your donors even automatically get a receipt
online! Very simple and quick to use.
2. Share your connection to the cause. If you or
someone you know has battled a blood cancer, do the event in their
honor or in their memory.
3. Set a goal and reach
it in manageable steps. To raise $400:

4. Remember to ask donors if their company has a matching gift program. Matching gifts can double, or even triple the original
donation amount.

or blog about it and watch the donations come rolling in!

Pledge Collection Deadline
To be eligible for
gifts, all monies must be received by the LLS office no later than two
weeks following the completion of the Climb. If mailing checks, please
include a note with your name and Big D Climb for proper crediting.

You may also drop off pledges in person. The North Texas Chapter
office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Quick Tax-Deduction Tips
1. All donations made to The Leukemia &
Lymphoma Society are tax-deductible.
2. All checks should be made out to The Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society or LLS.
3. LLS will automatically send out a tax letter
to those individuals who donate $50 or more via mail. If you
donated online, you should have received an email with a receipt upon your
donation. If you need a new one, please contact Melissa.Jacobowski@lls.org.
4. If you have a donor who contributes more than
$50 in cash, please list their address in a note so that we can send a tax
letter.
5. If you have a donor who contributes less than
$50 and would like an acknowledgement of his or her donation, please enclose a
small note stating such with their donation.
